Air Products Acquires MarkWest Hydrogen Production Facility

September 2, 2009 – Air Products global industrial gas provider, has purchased a new steam methane reformer (SMR) hydrogen facility under construction in Corpus Christi, Texas, from MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. The companies also signed a long-term supply agreement whereby Air Products will provide hydrogen and steam to MarkWest.

Air Products and Samsung Win ASU Contract in Saudi Arabia

September 21, 2009 – Air Products, with Samsung Engineering, secured a contract for an air separation unit to supply National Industrial Gases Co., a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation. The ASU will produce 3,550 tons per day of oxygen, 3,600 tpd of nitrogen, and 150 tpd of argon.

Air Products Announces Industrial Gas Price Increases

September 15, 2009 – Effective October 1 or as contracts permit, Air Products will increase pricing and monthly service charges for North American merchant customers on liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and liquid and bulk hydrogen by four to eight percent; and liquid and bulk helium by five to 10 percent.

Air Products Gains Foothold in Emerging India PV Market

Air Products’ ASUs to Supply Industrial Gases to Xingtai Steel

September 10, 2009 – Air Products has signed a contract to purchase and operate four existing air separation units (ASUs) and build a new air separation unit to supply industrial gases to Xingtai Iron and Steel Corporation, Ltd., one of China’s largest specialty steel manufacturers located in Hebei province, China.

Airgas Joins S&P 500

September 8, 2009 – According to Standard and Poor's, at the end of trading today, Airgas will assume a place on the S&P 500 stock index. Airgas will replace Cooper Industries Ltd., which is in the process of relocating its headquarters to Ireland.

Airgas’ AiRx™ Diesel Exhaust Fluid Receives API Certification

September 17, 2009 – Airgas, Inc. the largest US distributor of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, announced its AiRx™ Diesel Exhaust Fluid has been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API). Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce harmful diesel exhaust pollutants.

ASU to Supply PetroChina Facility and Air Products’ Merchant Customers

September 23, 2009 – An Air Products company in Sichuan, China will build an air separation unit for PetroChina Company Limited that will supply oxygen and nitrogen to PetroChina’s main refinery and ethylene complex in Sichuan, and produce liquid products for Air Products’ merchant gases customers in the Chengdu area.

Largest European Nitrogen Production Unit for German PV Industry

September 21, 2009 – Air Liquide will build a dedicated on-site production unit, due to start up in 2010, to serve all customers in Thalheim, Germany, Europe’s largest “Solar Valley”. The unit will produce more than 38,000 tons per year of nitrogen and represents an investment of around EUR 10 million.

Linde Establishes R&D Center in Shanghai

September 16, 2009 – The Linde Group has become the first industrial gases company to own a research and development (R&D) center in China by inaugurating one in Shanghai. Propane Wins Big

September 1, 2009 — Propane won big in the $300 million US DOE grants announced last week. The grants, funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus bill, award more than $33.5 million to dedicated propane projects and millions more to projects that include propane among other alternative fuels.

Praxair China Wins Pharmaceutical Contract

September 23, 2009 – Praxair China installed its NCOOL™ cryogenic heat exchanger system at Shanghai The First Biochemical & Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shanghai Pharmaceutical (Group) Ltd. This is the first liquid nitrogen supply contract Praxair China has signed employing its NCOOL system in a pharmaceutical freeze dryer.

Linde Launches CRYOWAVE™ Hygienic Tunnel Freezer
